FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How are BodyWiseMama classes different than other prenatal/postpartum fitness classes?
BodyWiseMama classes are not average or cookie cutter workouts; they are meaningful fitness experiences that are warm, lighthearted, welcoming and inclusive while being motivating and challenging for all fitness levels. You’ll have real deal and down-to-earth guidance every step of your way. My method of strength training is holistic and always evolving with experience, current research and up-to-date ACOG guidelines. I base my prenatal and postpartum programs on evidence-based practices that have been honed over the years of experience with personal training clients and live classes. Unlike prenatal yoga, barre or Pilates, BodyWiseMama emphasizes total body functional strength training and cardio intervals with light to heavy resistance that always pass the “talk test” while working you up to a satisfying sweat and good muscle soreness. I aim to facilitate a strong mind-body connection while you’re moving and deliver results that you’ll see and feel at every stage of pregnancy.

I just found out I’m pregnant and it’s very early on. When do you recommend starting a prenatal fitness program like BodyWiseMama?
Great question! It’s never too early or too late to establish a prenatal fitness routine. In fact, studies show that consistency is the most significant factor that leads to all kinds of benefits of working out before, during and after pregnancy. That goes for you and baby. That being said, please make sure to have a conversation with your doctor first about the type of exercise you’ll be doing in the BodyWiseMama workouts: total body functional strength training with resistance bands and moderate cardio intervals that always pass the “talk test.”
I’m just a few weeks out from my due date. Is it too late to subscribe to online classes with Kate?
It’s never too late to start getting your body and mind prepared for labor, birth and postpartum recovery. If you haven’t been doing any kind of strength training, yoga or cardio exercise until now, the best move you can make is to try before you buy. Click HERE to drop in for a free prenatal workout that’s perfect for any trimester/fitness level. Take a day or so after that first class and see how you feel. If you’re nice and sore in your push muscles and upper body, and you’re not feeling unmanageable pain or strain anywhere, then keep on moving, mama! You’ll be much more prepared for labor and birth, and you’ll begin to create muscle memory in your brain and body for recovery.
I wish I could have started taking these classes during my pregnancy! Do you also offer postpartum/postnatal/baby-wearing workouts?
Yes, I sure do! At the time of writing this A to your Q, there are three very specific postpartum classes/workouts available 24/7 in the Member Studio: 1) Postpartum Recovery + Recharge, 2) Postpartum Core Connection, and 3) Baby Wearing Strength + Cardio. Keep in mind that the prenatal strength training classes we offer at BodyWiseMama are great workouts at any stage of pregnancy, including post-pregnancy! Most second & third trimester classes are actually perfect for the fourth trimester and beyond as you recover and rebuild in year one with baby. If you’re ready to resume light exercise since delivering, consider dropping in for this class first. Or… GO FOR IT, MAMA!
How do I change or cancel my membership?
Here’s the bottom line: I want you to remain a member for only as long you benefit from on demand access to strength training classes fertility fitness, prenatal wellness, labor/birth prep and postpartum recovery. If you are a Monthly Mama member, you can pause or cancel your membership anytime by logging into your account.
