I met Kate during the 2nd trimester of my pregnancy and I loved her class immediately. I felt so committed to it – the amazing way I felt during and after the workouts and the noticable changes in my body (and mind and spirit!), that I vowed to myself I would show up every week until the baby was born. And I did. The payoff of this decision was immense. I was achieving demonstrable results that I was so proud of. I couldn’t have stuck with it without Kate coaching me to believe in myself and that I could indeed do it.
Kate appropriately calls the final sequence in the workout the ‘final push.’ But I didn’t realize the benefits of the class in truly preparing me for labor and delivery until I experienced them firsthand. This was my second child and she sure came quickly (just 6 minutes in the delivery room!). I had always planned on having pain medications, but wasn’t able to this time around. I can tell you that the prenatal strength training seriously helped me get through this incredibly intense and emotional experience. I was fortunate to also recover and bounce back quite quickly.
